The Springbok Bar & Grill was founded by Trevor Nettmann, Graham Taylor, Robin McLean and Peter Walker. We are all South Africans hailing from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. Having lived in America for many years we noticed the lack of a really good rugby bar and decided that the time had come for us to do something about it. Our goal is to not only create a fantastic, comfortable and friendly environment to watch Rugby, Cricket, Soccer and American Football and Baseball, but also to create a great menu showcasing the cultural diversity of Southern Hemisphere foods.
This bar isn't just a place for South Africans, but rather a place where people from all over the world can get together and share their passion for good sports and good food. We will be having many social events including great braais, lambs on the spit and of course our specialty sporting events. So bring all your British, Kiwi, Aussie and American friends and come join us for a couple beers.
The Springbok Bar and Grill is not your typical Bar and Grill. It has menus that are not your standard food that you can find at "sports bars". Springbok Bar & Grill has the influence 
of South African Cuisine that has global influence of spices from around the world. Their food is absolutely amazing and they have a great ambiance, fun karaoke nights, live bands, and more.
If you are looking for a place where you can grab a few beers, watch rugby, soccer, and sports, then The Springbok Bar and Grill should be your first destination in Van Nuys. Don't be surprised if you meet many friendly customers from New Zealand, South Africa, and locals. The owners and the management team believe in hospitality and treating guests as though they are part of their family.
This place has been around for over seven years and has just gotten consistently better. If you are looking for cheap pub grub look elsewhere, but if you don't mind spending a couple of bucks more for a truly amazing culinary experience in a laid back sports bar, look no further.
Another bonus is the outside heated patio, no standing out on the sidewalk to grab a smoke. Oh, and I should probably mention that they have 13 beers on tap as well as over 40 different bottled beers and just about any top shelf liquor you can think of...Amazing place.
